ok so i was COMPLETELY off base! the bbq ended up being a lot of fun. mostly because i spent the majority of the time with my cousins huddled around a wii console. we played doubles at tennis (my team was undefeated until the last match), boxing, baseball (i won both games) and bowling. we didn’t finish that game but i was losing anyway so it doesn’t make a difference. i guess i missed all the adult conversations being had by the elders because we spent the time talking about colleges and fraternities. of course when we tried to go for a family outing to the movies we were shut down by our parents, in true Dominican fashion. forgetting that when the family gets together we all revert to being children, regardless of our age. all in all it was a good time. i have no complaints other than the hot ass attic we were in playing wii. they need to invest in central air. other than that the day was good. an 8 on the happy scale. i need to stop being so skeptical of the fun i may have when my family gets together. i often forget how much fun i have with them. plus the fact that no matter how estranged we may be, i love them all!
p.s. Jerz wasn’t that bad. smelly but not horrible!
